HP bluetooth mouse 250

in brief, to change DPI on this mouse is to hold left+right button for 3 seconds to toggle DPI in order. This is absolutely annoying when gaming, it suddenly changes DPI while I'm playing, HP accessory center doesn't recognize this product and I don't know how to disable it.

please help.

Hi @jiovanni_jio07

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Unfortunately, the HP Bluetooth Mouse 250 does not have an official way to disable the DPI toggle function. Since HP Accessory Center doesn’t recognize this model, there are limited customization options.

However, here are some potential workarounds:

Try Third-Party Key Remapping Software

  • AutoHotkey: You can create a script to block the left + right button combination.
  • X-Mouse Button Control: Allows remapping mouse buttons, though DPI toggling may not be adjustable.

Check Windows Mouse Settings

  • Open Settings > Devices > Mouse.
  • Click Additional Mouse Options > Pointer Options.
  • Adjust pointer speed manually to compensate for DPI changes.

Test HP Mouse Utility (If Available)

  • Some HP gaming mice have a firmware update tool that allows DPI adjustments.
  • Check HP’s support page for any updates related to your model.

Use a Different Mouse for Gaming

  • If the DPI toggle continues to interfere, consider using a gaming mouse with dedicated DPI buttons.
