@BloodLadKiller, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like your right Ctrl key is mapped incorrectly after replacing the keyboard on your HP Pavilion. This could be due to a wrong keyboard layout. Try these steps to fix it:

Change the keyboard layout: you can use the input language icon in the taskbar or use the keyboard shortcut Alt+Shift

Plug in a USB keyboard and check if the right Ctrl key works properly. If it does, the issue is with the laptop's built-in keyboard.

Open Device Manager > Keyboards, right-click your keyboard, and select Uninstall device. Restart your laptop, and Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

Remap the Key: If you don’t want to open up the laptop again, you can remap the key using software like Microsoft PowerToys to restore the right Ctrl function.

Let me know if you need help with any step! 😊

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

@Garp_senchau , thank you for you for your answer.

I did the things that you suggested, the external USB keyboard worked so I uninstalled the keyboard drivers as you suggested but unfortunately it didn't help. I also tried to remap the key with Microsoft Power Toys, but I don't think I did it right because it said I cant remap the key to itself,  I tried to remap from left ctrl to right ctrl and from right ctrl to left ctrl, separately then both at the same time, but nothing changed.

Thank you for your time and help 🙂
