Hi @chirag5512,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the left click on your HP mouse is not working, here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Check the Mouse Hardware
- Inspect the Mouse: Ensure the mouse is clean and there is no debris blocking the buttons.
- Test on Another Device: Plug the mouse into another computer to see if the left click works there. This will help determine if the issue is with the mouse or the computer.
- Try Another USB Port: If it's a wired mouse, connect it to a different USB port to rule out a port issue.
Update or Reinstall Mouse Drivers
- Update Drivers:
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Mice and other pointing devices section.
- Right-click on your mouse and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Reinstall Drivers:
- In Device Manager, right-click the mouse and choose Uninstall device.
- Disconnect the mouse and then reconnect it. Windows will reinstall the drivers automatically.
Check Mouse Settings
- Control Panel Settings:
- Open Control Panel and go to Mouse.
- Check if the left button is assigned correctly under the Buttons tab. Ensure that the "Switch primary and secondary buttons" box is unchecked.
Test for Software Conflicts
- Safe Mode: Boot your computer in Safe Mode and see if the left-click works. This will help identify if a background program is causing the issue.
Test with Another Mouse
If possible, test another mouse to see if the issue persists. If the other mouse works fine, the problem is likely with the first mouse.
Battery Check (If Wireless)
If it’s a wireless mouse, try replacing the batteries, as low power can cause malfunction.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
