Hi @Raymondisthebes,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

If your Gaming Mouse M270 isn't working and the cursor won't move, try these troubleshooting steps:

Basic Checks:

Check Power (Wireless Mouse)

  • Replace or recharge the batteries.
  • If rechargeable, ensure it's charged properly.
  • Try a different USB port if it has a receiver.

Check Connections (Wired Mouse)

  • Unplug and reconnect the mouse to a different USB port.
  • Try another device to see if it works there.

Restart Your Computer

  • A simple restart might resolve any software glitches.

Software & Driver Fixes:

Check for Driver Issues

  • Press Win + X → Select Device Manager → Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
  • If you see a yellow warning icon, right-click the mouse and choose Update driver.

Reinstall Mouse Drivers

  • In Device Manager, right-click your mouse → Click Uninstall device → Restart your PC.
  • Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.

Check for Conflicts

  • Try disconnecting other USB devices in case of interference.

Additional Steps:

Try a Different Surface

  • Some mice don’t work well on glass or reflective surfaces.
  • Use a mouse pad or a different surface.

Test on Another PC

  • If the mouse doesn’t work on another computer, it may be faulty.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
