Hi ! I would like to know the best settings for my GTX 1070 w/my omen 27" display ,I have it set to overdrive on 144Hz/1440p- defaul response time, gsync setup in nvidia control panel, max framerate/vsync -off/full screen not windowed.
I had to set to 144Hz and not 165Hz because I heard some buzzing in PC (maybe PSU) not sure.I 'am happy playing Arma3 Response time seems fine ,are these settings Best or should I really try 165Hz again and see if buzz is gone.I read that setting response time to default when useing gsync was correct ,also monitor control panel set to FPS -gameing.
Thanks!
Love my new Omen PC and 27"display

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I see from your post and understand you need information and assistance related to g sync setup. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.
I see that you have already enabled G sync on your computer, In case if you are having issues, please follow the steps below to enable G sync on your computer:
Open the NVIDIA Control Panel on your PC by right-clicking your Windows desktop and selecting “NVIDIA Control Panel”, or launching the “NVIDIA Control Panel” application from your Start menu.
Head to Display > Set up G-SYNC. Ensure the “Enable G-SYNC” option is checked. By default, G-Sync is only enabled for games running in full screen mode. You’ll probably want to select the “Enable G-Sync for windowed and full screen mode” option instead. This will make G-Sync work even when you play games in windowed mode on your desktop, too. Click “Apply” after you change any options here.
If you have multiple monitors connected to your PC and only one of them supports G-Sync, the control panel will guide you through setting the G-Sync monitor as your primary display first.
if you’d like to know when G-Sync is enabled, you can select Display > G-Sync Indicator from within the NVIDIA Control Panel to enable or disable the G-Sync overlay.
With this option enabled, you’ll see an overlay over a game when G-Sync is enabled. It’s probably not something you want to leave enabled all the time, but it can help you troubleshoot and confirm that G-Sync is indeed enabled and working in a game.
In case if the G sync is enabled and if you still need assistance with the best suitable settings, I would personally suggest you set it up to the defaults as it would be recommended.
Alternatively, as you have mentioned set it to 165Hz and try this should do the needful.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any further assistance, I'll be more than glad to assist you.
Eagerly waiting for your response!

Yes! I did not know about the Gsync display indicator!! also as you mentioned I run all my games full screen ,so I chose that setting, ,when I attempted to change from full screen to fullscreen and windowed mode setting I had a line (a tear) down the middle of screen or wherever I put a crosshair so I switched it back to fullscreen and it went away.I also tried the pendulum test demo and it looks pretty good to me.I came from using a freesync monitor and using the windmill demo I was never really sure if freesync worked, but the gsync and pendulum on my Omen27" looks great with both tests pendulum and vertical lines,I will check out the gsync indicator tonight when I get out of work @11pm I will also test going to 165Hz ,I already have it in overclock to get a stable 144Hz without it switching back itsef to another ---HZ
Thank You Vey Much and you and the other Tech's are very much appreciated ,I follow all the omen posts,Having both the Omen 870-213w and Omen 27" gsync monitor

Hi! I set my omen 27" monitor to 165Hz as suggested.Nice and quiet,no PSU sounds or issues, I also checked out the Nvidia Gsync display overlay that you suggested, and I am useing gsync. The overlay say's Gsync ON but u were rite. It's not something Iwould want to leave on ,Used just for testing only to see if Gsync is actually working.I read that the monitor light at bottom right corner of screen under Gsnc logo changes colors in different mode? RED Gsync /Amber 3d/ is this true?
Also some times when I reboot ,I get a weird vertical strip a 1/4" down left or right side of screen, when I do a soft boot it goes away is that a setting in Nvidia control panel ,I read here about vertical sizing,RE: black strip on sides of monitor.
Again ,I'm very happy w/my Omen 27"monitor if you have time to answer that would be great,Thanks again for ur help on this and the other section under gaming PC for my Omen 870-213w

It's great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.
As you have mentioned you have concern with the display, don't worry as I have few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
Let's uninstall the display drivers from device manager:
Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand display adapters>then select the display drivers that are listed and right-click on it and uninstall the drivers.
Check the box that states delete the software for this device.
Now restart the computer and then update the Bios, Chipset and graphics card drivers on your PC from our HP support website, using this link.
Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.
Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.
Alternatively, you can try to connect to an external monitor and check if the issue persists.
Let me know how it goes for further assistance.
