HP's website states that the product comes with HP's one year limited warranty, and if that's the case, I'd like to know how the warranty could expire after less than 2 months. Is this standard practice for HP, to only honor 2 months of a 1 year warranty, or is this a special case?

Welcome to the HP Community --

Original Warranty period starts after the product is manufactured.

The Warranty start date is generally reset when the device is purchased and registered.

The "wrong start date" can be sorted.

The first thing to try is to submit the Warranty Dispute form to have the date adjusted.

If, for some reason, that does not work for this product, let us know and we can forward a request to our moderator team for help.

Warranty Dispute

The original warranty date is set at manufacturing and perhaps by the merchant who sells the device to the consumer.

If the warranty details of your product are incorrect, submit a dispute through the HP warranty validation website.
