HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 (2J4W0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

About 18 months ago, I purchased an ASUS laptop computer, the ASUS Laptop PC came with a one-Month free Xbox Game Pass. The laptop pc Stopped Working, I decided to purchase another computer. My new computer is an HP laptop Windows11 64 bit, but this computer did not come with an Xbox free game Pass. My issue is, is there any way I could transfer the Game Pass because I never used it to my new laptop, basically what I'm asking firstly is there free pass transferable or is the way that I can make it transferable, thank you.

Hi @lordznoide,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand that your previous ASUS laptop included a one-month free Xbox Game Pass, and you’d like to know if that free pass can be transferred to your new HP 15.6-inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 (2J4W0AV) running Windows 11 (64-bit).

I completely understand why you’d want to use the offer on your new computer, and I’ll be happy to clarify how this works.

About the Xbox Game Pass Offer

The Xbox Game Pass for PC promotion that comes preinstalled on certain new Windows devices is managed entirely by Microsoft, not HP.

  • Each promotional code or pre-installed offer is linked to the specific device and manufacturer that provided it.
  • These promotional licenses are non-transferable, meaning an Xbox Game Pass that was bundled with an ASUS device cannot be moved to or activated on another brand of PC, including HP.
  • Once the offer is expired or is unused, it cannot be reissued or applied to another computer.

What You Can Do

  1. Check your Microsoft account:
    • Sign in at Sign in to see if your original Game Pass code still appears unused or active.
    • If it does, you may be able to redeem it directly from there.
  2. Explore current Game Pass offers:
    • Sometimes new HP devices come with their own promotions through the Microsoft Store app.
    • Open the Microsoft Store → Library → Included with Device to check if a new offer is listed.
  3. Microsoft Support:
    • If your old offer was never activated, you can contact Microsoft Support to confirm if they can reissue the promotion under your Microsoft account: Contact Us - Microsoft Support

Summary

  • The Xbox Game Pass offer is not transferable between brands or devices.
  • HP does not control the offer activation or transfer process; it is managed by Microsoft.
  • If your HP laptop didn’t come with the promotion, you can still access Game Pass by subscribing directly through the Microsoft Store or Xbox app.

We’re sorry this isn’t the answer you were hoping for, but we hope the steps above help you check your eligibility and explore your options.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
