Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out.
I understand that you are getting an error message "check video source or input" after connecting a new hp 25er monitor to your HP Omen computer.
This issue could occur if the cable connections are not secure or the cable is defective.
Don't worry as I have a few steps that should help fix this issue.
And here's the step by step guide for you in the links below:
1. HP Flat Panel LCD Monitors - Monitor is Blank
2. Monitor Displays Message about No Signal
If the issue still persists, then try replacing the monitor cable.
Let me know how that works.
I hope you have a good day ahead.

Thank you for your reply, I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that the issue still persists after following the steps provided in the previous interaction.
This issue could occur if the display settings are not correct.
Hence, I request you to connect the monitor to your laptop with the HDMI cable and then change the display resolution to 4096x2160x24 bpp. Then connect the monitor to your Omen Desktop and check if it receives signals.
If the issue persists, try connecting to the desktop to the monitor with a VGA cable to check if the HDMI port on the desktop is fine.
Let me know if this works.
You have a good day ahead.
