Someone already asked this and was told it doesn't have the cooling compared to a 45L but that I think is irrelevant as my 3090 runs hotter than later comparable cards anyway. One of the selling points of these 30Ls was ability to upgrade and if not then I'll get a different PC than the 45L next year. For now I just need a card that doesn't crash with heavy OCL. Can I put a 4070 super or 5070 in it? Someone said the bios is an issue. Thank you for any advise on how to upgrade GPU if possible, (not a new system)

Greetings @grahamdclark
Welcome to the HP Forum.
The HP 30L case should be able to do an Nvidia reference 4070 super provided the 30L PC has a 550 watt or better PSU.
An Nvidia reference 5070 should also fit in the 30L case. The Nvidia 5070 requires a minimum 600 watt PSU.
You can upgrade the HP factory installed PSU if needed.
Nvidia AIB partners such as: Asus, MSI, or Zotac may have different dimensions and PSU requirements.
You should measure along the PCIe x16 GPU slot to verify total acceptable GPU length. There is a drive cage in line with the GPU PCIe x16 slot which will limit graphics card length. The 30L case is also limited to a dual slot or a 2.5 slot, dual fan graphics card.
A 30L BIOS update should not be required to upgrade the graphics card.
Do you need instructions on how to do the upgrade? Have you previously done any PC component upgrades?
Check this HP video on how to remove and replace HP 25L and HP 30L components.
