OMEN by HP Gaming Desktop Computer, AMD Ryzen 5 1400, AMD Radeon RX 580, 8GB RAM, 1TB Hard Drive

 

I currently am looking to plausibly upgrade my GPU and CPU and not sure which way to do so. I would like to add 2 sticks of RAM as well, but there are quite a plethora of upgrades that I've looked for compatibility for and the information is not clear and concise and would rather not risk losing money on something that doesn't work if I have to.

 

Ideally I would like to replace both the GPU and CPU (If I can swap to Nvidia for gpu that would be great) however if I cannot, is it worth upgrading at all or should I just look to save primarily for a newer gaming desktop etc.

 

I play primarily Final Fantasy 14 and at 1600x900 get around 52-56 fps, that FPS falls hard if streaming is involved or if I try 1080p

Your RX580 slightly exceeds the RX 480 suggested.

Comparing an I7 (3770) to your Ryzen 5 1400

 

Upgrade to the max:

Ryzen 7-1800K

GTX 1080 (same wattage of your RX580, but performs as shown here WOW !

Corsair CX650M PSU

RAM: toss out that single 8GB, you want a 2x8GB pair,  get these.
