I would love to add an internal hdd to this computer I just purchased for my son. I'm making sure it will be setup for when Christmas comes. Is it possible to do? Also any recommendations?
I'm already going to add 1 more 8gb of ram. Not sure if that info is needed our not.
Thanks!

Your son is going to be very happy come Christmas time!!
Yes, you can add a hard drive to the computer. Here is the Interactive Part Locator: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06504786
Scroll down to the Parts List and select Hard Drive. I will take you to the location of the hard drive bay. Also, here is the Upgrading and Servicing Guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06425327
Here is the hard drive that is shown in the Locator Guide: https://www.newegg.com/toshiba-dt01aca100-1tb/p/N82E16822149382?nm_mc=AFC-RAN-COM&cm_mmc=AFC-RAN-COM...
It is not available from Newegg.com, but they list several others below on the page that should work. You can use these specifications to choose the drive that you want to buy. If you have questions about a hard drive you can contact the manufacturer's Tech Support for help.
Before upgrading the memory, I suggest that you use CPU-Z to find the manufacturer and timings for the current memory: https://download.cnet.com/CPU-Z/3000-2086_4-10050423.html
This information is in the Tab titled "SPD". You will need this information to match the current memory. The motherboard has Dual Channel Memory Architecture which means that the memory should be installed in matching pairs to achieve maximum performance from it. Also, different manufacturers' memory doesn't always work well together. I suggest that you check Crucial Memory's Advisor Tool to find the memory that they recommend. They make very good memory. You can contact their Tech Support for help with how to upgrade the memory.
Here is the Product Specifications page for the computer: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-gaming-desktop-pc-tg01-0000a/37874510/model/3112823...
I know that this is a lot of information, but I want to assure that you don't buy something that will have to be returned. The sellers pay for shipping to you, but you pay for the return shipping.
