OMEN 25L Desktop GT11-1000a/GT12-1000a (1Z1B3AV)

Hello all!

I want to upgrade both my CPU and my GPU and I know that I will probably have to upgrade both my case and my power supply to accommodate this upgrade.

I want the AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d for CPU and the RTX 4080 Super for GPU. I need help or advice regarding my other components in my computer.

First 1) is this possible with regards to compatibility?

Second 2) will my mother board or RAM limit my computer in high fidelity VR games? Will there be significant bottle necks? Should I upgrade RAM, for example?

Thank you for your time!

P.S:
I hope my computer and it's specs will be visible as I have selected the model in the drop down list when posting this query. If not, I will add specs manually ASAP.

Since I cannot figure out how to find the specs myself via this service, I will add them manually:

Product: OMEN 25L Desktop GT11-1026no
Motherboard Hana, 8876

BIOS: F.11-08/27/2021

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
RAM: 16 GB DDR SDRAM, 3200MHz, DIMM 288-pin, 4 slots, 2 used, Intel Extreme Memory Profiles (XMP), config 2x8 GB

GPU: 30360 ti

PSU: some 500 W, I don't know what it is.

Case: too small for air cooling for RTX 4080 Super (I have measured)
🙂

@Joakim861 , welcome to the Community.

Here are the specifications/options for your computer.  If you look at the section titled "Processor upgrade information" you will find a list of compatible processors.  The AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d is not on that list.  Those on the list were fully tested to assure that they were compatible with your motherboard.  This means that it will most likely not work.

The RTX 4080 Super requires a power supply unit (PSU) with a minimum of 750W w/ 3x PCIe 8-pin cables (adapter in box)
OR 1x 450 W or greater PCIe Gen 5 cable.  The PSU in your computer is only 500W.  Therefore, you will have to upgrade your PSU, also.

I am not certain how your motherboard or memory will affect your gaming with VR.  You will have to look at each game that you play with VR to see what they list for system requirements.

Here is a HP Knowledge Base article that will explain what to consider when moving a HP motherboard to a new gaming case.  It is not always easy to know which cases will work.  The best option is to contact the manufacturer's Tech Support for help.  They are the experts on their products.

I hope this answers your questions.  If not, let me know.
