Hi @Rachit88

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your laptop battery is giving inaccurate health readings despite its age and performance issues. After 5 years and 355 charge cycles, it's not uncommon for a battery to degrade, even if the health indicator shows 100%. Here are some steps to address the issue:

1. Calibrate the Battery

  • Fully charge the battery to 100%.
  • Use the laptop until it shuts down due to low battery (avoid hibernation or sleep mode).
  • Recharge it to 100% without interruption.
  • This process can help recalibrate the battery's charge level indicators.

2. Check for Power Settings

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options and ensure the power plan is optimized for performance.
  • Adjust the Low Battery Level and Critical Battery Level settings to ensure the laptop doesn't shut down prematurely.

3. Run a Battery Diagnostic

  • Use the built-in HP Support Assistant to run a battery diagnostic test.
  • Open the app, navigate to Battery Check, and follow the prompts to assess the battery's condition.

4. Update BIOS and Drivers

  • Visit the HP Support page for your laptop model.
  • Download and install the latest BIOS and chipset drivers, as these updates can improve battery management.

5. Consider Replacing the Battery

  • If the battery continues to underperform, it may be time to replace it.
  • Check for a genuine replacement battery from HP or an authorized retailer to ensure compatibility and safety.
