Hi, I bought this pc off my co worker who didn’t wipe his desktop so i did it myself. Somewhere around the process it started taking me to bitlock recovery and says i need a key. My co worker no longer has access to that microsoft account and can’t get a password reset due to lack of information even though he answered all the questions. Is there anyway you could gain the recovery key on your end ?

The recovery ID is 1B00AE84-6075-489D-A12F-0DF8599DECD9

I would love any assistance please.

Hi @guitaee

Welcome to the HP Forum.

This Forum can't assist with your specific BitLocker problem.

I don't understand how and  why a BitLocker key prompt is happening after wiping the system disk.

You will have to do a clean Windows installation on this drive or buy a new drive if you want to use the PC.

Regards
