I was gifted the HP pavilion gaming desktop 590-p0xxx a couple of years ago which came with a Ryzen 5 2400G and just recently I purchased the Ryzen 7 5800x cpu to upgrade my pc. I have updated my BIOS and before purchasing I found that this specific cpu was highly recommended for my pc. Upon installing the new cpu tho I found it to be stuck in a rebooting loop. I was informed that it might be a motherboard overload issue I am not so sure what the issue might be and I was confused as to why it was recommended if it doesn’t actually work?
and if it so happens to be a motherboard issue, do you guys recommend upgrading my motherboard or purchasing a new cpu that’s compatible to the motherboard I have now?

Hi @Kenzie910
Do you recall the specific BIOS update installed? BIOS version F.57 should not be installed on the Sunflower MB (SSID 8433).
The HP 590-p000a category lists many PCs, 590-p000a means you have an AMD MB.
The "a: series PCs all use the Sunflower MB. Look at Processor upgrade information to see AMD CPUs HP has validated for your MB.
The 5800x is not on the list.
Your PC has a proprietary: MB, power supply, and case. You can't drop a retail MB in this case.
