Omen obelisk
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just bought a new hp omen obelisk and got it set up for the first time today. After getting all the initial stuff set up like steam and such I started downloading some games, after starting the downloads I check the omen command center and saw the CPU temp was a consistant 75C-77C. I've never had an actual gaming pc before and im not sure if this is about normal or not.

Edit: forgot to mention I have an intel i7-8700 CPU

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

75 C to 77 C when doing routine computing tasks is somewhat high.

Download Prime95 (Link) and HDWinfo portable(Link).

Open both programs. Run Prime95 for about 20 minutes. Locate CPU core temps in HDWinfo. Monitor CPU temps while Prime95 is running.

This stress test and monitoring software will tell you if you have a CPU thermal problem.

Regards
