CPU bottleneck

Omen 880-010
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have the Omen desktop, 880-010. I do a lot of strict gaming with it and I am starting to notice the downfalls of the AMD ryzen 5 and want to upgrade to a new gen i5 or i7.

what processor and motherboard will fit inside the case?

Edit 1: if anyone knows if I can keep the motherboard and put in a processor like an intel i5 8400 without any issues, please let me know

You are better off keeping the motherboard and installing up to a 1700 or 1800X 95w CPU.

But you will also need the 95w liquid cooler to go with it.

928210-001Thermal Module - AMD Water 95W

HP doesnt sell these parts or motherboards. So you will have to find a liquid cooler solution on the web.

Welcome to the HP Support Community  @Boyddr

You cannot install an Intel CPU in an AMD socket.

You can upgrade to:

AMD Ryzen7-1800X (Summit Ridge) 3.6 GHz, 8 cores/16 threads

OMEN by HP 880-010 Desktop PC Product Specifications:

Do you have the Liquid Cooling System installed???
