I've opened my case but on the surface it didn't really look like the power supply could come out of my OMEN 870-244. Am I able to remove it out of the case so I can buy a new case and put it into there?

Yes, you can remove your HP 500 watt power supply p/n: 860625-801 ("Power Supply - GNRC, 500W ATX ES6 Bron Picolit Twstr") as per https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=Z5M59AA from your OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 870-244 (Z5M59AA).

Yes, it can, as long as your new motherboard is ATX-powered based, and it depends on your new motherboard/system power requirements: please be reminded that an ATX-based 500 watt power supply is limited what it can power. Since it is not entirely clear to me if this power supply has only one or two 6-pin, or 6+2-pin or 8-pin PCIe power cables, this limits what graphics card you can power.
You may find this link of interest: Solved: Want to upgrade my 870-244 gpu, cpu, psu - HP Support Community - 6963880. There's a picture showing one of the users having swapped the HP ATX 500 watt power supply with a Corsair 650 watt power supply. Other ATX wattage options are also available, as long as they physically fit inside your case.
