Hello! I am wondering if I can bring my computer to an HP store to have my i5 upgraded to an i7 and add 16GB of RAM aswell, would this be possible? Thank you

Welcome to the HP Forum.

 

I don't think HP does PC component upgrades. You can purchase available replacement components for your PC from HP.

 

If the PC is in warranty HP will replace defective, like kind, components at a Service Center.

 

This HP Site lists your PC's specifications. Per HP the MB can do two 8 GB sticks of RAM totaling 16 GB.

 

The mobile CPU type per this Site is BGA. BGA processors are soldered to the MB CPU socket. Upgrading the CPU to an i7 would be very difficult. You would need to remove the CPU using a hot air rework gun. Reball the socket and install the new CPU using solder. Or replace the existing HP MB/CPU combo with a new HP MB/CPU combo.

 

I would contact a local PC Tech to see what component upgrades are possible.
