My question is based on this thread which was closed due to inactivity https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Desktops/All-Omen-30L-Intel-Based-Owners-Very-Important-If-You-...
I checked in the Omen Gaming Hub app which I supposed is the app that used to be called Omen Command Center. I checked the "overclocking" options and the only overclocking you can do is on the CPU. There are no options, unless I missed something where you can change memory timings or select different XMP profiles.
I recently purchased an Omen 30L and i'm seriously considering returning it to the bricks and mortar retailer because HP seems to have locked the BIOS where you can't change memory timings. CAS 22, for DDR4 3200 Kingston memory?
Wow !

Unfortunately thats the first major issue I reported back in last summer, but till now, HP has not made any changes to help their customers. On top of that newer versions of Intel XTU (that what HP Game Hub is based on, for Intel ) are removing the Memory overclock section from the hub, and getting them back is a long and hard process including rolling back drivers and trill/error situation. BTW, speaking of returning, I stopped by Best Buy today and noticed that there were a lot of Omens being sold as open box returns...can't say that I was surprised.
