Hello,
I am trying to activate my secure boot since this morning from the BIOS, but the option allowing me to do so is greyed out (so impossible to change).
There is an administrator password already configured to access the BIOS so it's not that, and HP support itself tells me that it's strange.
Do you have a solution to help me?
Thanks!

Hi @Kyriden, Welcome to HP Support Community!
We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊
The issue of the Secure Boot option being grayed out in the BIOS of your HP OMEN 15-dc0025nf running Windows 11 is a known one, and several users have encountered it. Here are some effective steps you can try to resolve it:
Step-by-Step Fix
1. Load HP Factory Default Keys
- Reboot your laptop and enter BIOS (usually by pressing
ESC
orF10
during startup). - Navigate to:
System Configuration > Boot Options > Load HP Factory Default Keys - Confirm and save changes.
- Check if the Secure Boot option is now enabled or selectable.
2. Disable Fast Startup in Windows
- Boot into Windows.
- Go to:
Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do - Click "Change settings that are currently unavailable"
- Uncheck "Turn on fast startup (recommended)"
- Save and restart your PC.
- Re-enter BIOS and try loading the HP Factory Default Keys again.
3. Disable Legacy Support (if enabled)
- In BIOS, go to Boot Options.
- If Legacy Support is enabled, disable it.
- Save and restart.
4. Reset BIOS to Factory Defaults
- In BIOS, look for an option like "Restore Defaults" or "Reset to Factory Settings".
- Apply and save changes.
- Reboot and check Secure Boot again.
5. Update BIOS (if nothing else works)
- Visit the HP Support page for your model and check for BIOS updates.
- Follow instructions carefully to update the BIOS.
