Omen 25L Desktop GT12-0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just received my new dual 16 gigabytes 3600Mhz Corsair Vengeance pro AMD optimized RAM, and it's running at 2666Mhz. I really hoped it'd be running in XMP mode already, as I knew OMEN desktops (and prebuilts in general) generally don't allow to mess with things in the bios.

Now, the question I'm asking is where do I activate the XMP profile? Do I need a driver update off of the HP website or something (I already updated it from Windows update à week ago)? Or can I use some third party software, or even bios at this point? Worst case scenario, i'll just buy a whole new motherboard.

I had no choice but to buy a prebuilt because everything was so expensive when I bought it.

@Evaldion , welcome to the Community.

HP normally doesn't use XMP's in their BIOS/UEFI's.  They use the standard JEDEC"s that are stored on the memory.  This is why you can't find a setting to enable XMP's.

@Evaldion,

HP (gaming) PCs are particular when it comes to RAM and attaining max RAM speed. What is the system board/baseboard ID of your motherboard?  Type system information in your Windows search bar, right-click on System Information and Run as administrator. Look to the right of "BaseBoard Product (8703, 8704 87C3, etc.) and let me know.

I can tell you right away that your best bet to attain higher RAM speeds is to purchase the 'right' RAM such as Kingston HyperX DDR4 3600 C18, Kingston HP32D4U8D8HC-16X or Kingston HP32D4U8S8ME-8XR.

Kind Regards,
