OMEN by HP 875-1000 Obelisk Desktop PC (3VH40AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I've recently bought new ram, everything works perfectly other than the speed. My last ram had the speed of 2666 MHZ and the new ram has the speed of 3200MHZ and I cannot make it run at 3200MHZ but it instead runs at the speed of the old one. I've tried everything I could think of, even updated my BIOS. It seems like HP is blocking me from changing the settings. Anybody knows how I could increase my ram speed?

Hi:

Below is the link to the Intel processor specs for your PC's processor.

Intel® Core™ i7-8700 Processor

As you can see the supported memory speed is DDR4-2666.

So, any memory you install that is faster than DDR4-2666 automatically bridges to 2666 MHz.

Hi:

What model processor does your PC come with?

The memory can only run as fast as the processor's FSB will allow it to run at.

If HP installed a DDR4-2666 MHz memory chip in your PC, that normally means that is the fastest speed the memory can run at.

Where do I see that? I have a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20GHz.
I've checked it on Intel Extreme Tuning Utility

Is there anyway I could make it go to 3200MHZ?

I want to enable the XMP profile, but there are no options in the BIOS to let me do so.

Unfortunately, that would not be possible.

Your PC's BIOS does not support overclocking the processor or memory.

Even the Intel 9th generation core processors only run the memory at a max speed of 2666 MHz.
