I bought this computer used off facebook marketplace and maybe that might be the problem but I cant even play roblox on the lowest graphics on this laptop. My old laptop runs better than this and this computer was made for gaming. And when i try to download other games the download speed is very slow and I dont think its my wifi because i have never had problems with that. I really want to use this computer and be able to game but I cant because it lags alot. Please i need some help. I have no idea what the issue is.

Hi @EMAN315,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion Gaming - 15 is not performing well and experiencing slowdowns when playing games, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow to improve your gaming performance.
- Check system requirements: Ensure that your computer meets the minimum requirements for the games you are trying to play. Make sure your processor, graphics card, and RAM are suitable for the games you want to run.
- Update graphics drivers: Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can significantly impact gaming performance. Visit the HP support website or the graphics card manufacturer's website to download and install the latest drivers for your graphics card.
- Close unnecessary background processes: Close any unnecessary programs or processes running in the background. These can consume system resources and affect gaming performance. You can use the Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) to identify and close unwanted processes.
- Optimize in-game settings: Lower the graphics settings in your games to reduce the strain on your system. Lower resolutions, decreased texture quality, and disabling advanced visual effects can improve performance.
- Free up disk space: Ensure that you have enough free disk space on your computer. If the storage is nearly full, it can impact system performance. Delete unnecessary files and programs, or consider upgrading to a larger storage drive.
- Scan for malware: Malware or viruses can negatively affect system performance. Run a full scan with your antivirus software to detect and remove any potential threats.
- Upgrade hardware components: If your computer is still struggling to run games after trying the above steps, it might be beneficial to consider upgrading certain hardware components. Upgrading the RAM, replacing the hard drive with a solid-state drive (SSD), or upgrading the graphics card can enhance gaming performance.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
