Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, i have a hp z240 sff desktop and i like to upgrade my cpu to intel core i5 9400f. Is it compatible ?

Here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for the workstation: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04897695

 

On Page 7, Workstation specifications, it lists the compatible processors.  It states as follows:  Support for the Intel® Xeon® Processor E3 v5 Family, sixth-generation Intel Core™ processors up to 95 W, or Intel Pentium® processors

 

This would not include the i5-9400f.  These processors have been fully tested to assure they are compatible with the motherboard.  Any other processors will most likely not work.
