My fan is either broken or not working correctly and if I try to do anything I hear this very loud buzzing sound like the fan blades are scraping against something. This is also not cooling down my computer which has caused it to overheat.
The left fan is working correctly but the right isn't. I can feel the temperate difference on both sides.
I'm just wondering what I can do to fix this or if I have to take my computer someplace. If I have to do that, how would I do that.

Hi @patrick03,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there might be an issue with the fan on your HP OMEN gaming laptop. If you're comfortable with it, you could try a few troubleshooting steps before taking it to a professional repair shop.
Here's what you can try:
- Check for Dust Buildup: Dust can accumulate inside the laptop and obstruct the fan blades. Turn off your laptop, unplug it, and carefully clean the vents and fan area using compressed air or a soft brush.
- Inspect the Fan: If you feel comfortable opening your laptop, you could try to carefully open it and inspect the fan. Make sure there are no obstructions and that the fan blades are intact. Also, check if there's any noticeable damage to the fan itself.
- Update BIOS and Drivers: Sometimes, updating your laptop's BIOS and drivers can resolve hardware issues. You can download the latest BIOS and driver updates from HP's official website and install them on your laptop.
- Reset BIOS: If updating the BIOS doesn't help, you could try resetting the BIOS settings to default. This can sometimes resolve hardware-related issues.
If you decide to take your laptop to a repair shop, you can search for authorized HP repair centers in your area online.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I did end up opening the computer up and cleaning the fan and areas around it but that was not the problem as its the fan itself that has an issue. One of the first steps I took was resetting BIOS and other setting. I ended up taking it to a repair center. They said it is most likely a power issue.
