Product: Pavilion tg01-0170m cto

I received the computer as a gift from a friend months ago and it stopped turning on completely. The friend at the time said the warranty had expired but it didn’t until  months later.  The power source, power cord, monitor, keyboard, mouse etc all function appropriately as I bought myself a dell to replace it. Plug this computer in and the monitor says “input signal not found.” When it is connected to this computer. Tried everything up to and including opening the computer and did everything except from the point it said something about static shock harming the computer. Any ideas?
