OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop 875-0060
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

IMG_1556.jpeg

My dad gave me his old pc which has a i7 8700 and a 3070ti (other specs in pic) I wanted to get a i5 13600k or and 7 5800x3d but wasn’t sure if I’d have to change anything else with the pc. I’m planning to move it into a bigger case as well and switch cpu fans & add fans because that case doesn’t keep anything cool. Idk if it’s worth trying or just build a better pc.

@kchanmi,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

Your OMEN By HP Obelisk Desktop 875-0060 as fitted with an Edoras motherboard (SSID: 84FD) please verify, can be upgraded up to an i9-9900K or i9-9900KF, like what this HP OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop 875-0xxx User did: HP OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop 875-0xxx Performance Results - UserBenchmark.

In other words, your motherboard will only accept 8th and 9th gen Intel processors. This is no big deal, because when paired with sufficient RAM (which you got) and a high-end graphics card, you can play any game at very high graphics settings, though I would stick with 2K (2560x1440) resolution.

Kind Regards,
