DVD player won't play anything. Found that settings from previous OS (Win10 to Win 11) in it's event folder were not migrated to new player because the previous player was virtual and new is not. I guess they need to match in order to migrate? What to do to get it working?

Greetings @Lacider

I have not used an optical drive since about 2015.

I can say I have also never seen the optical drive problem you are having when upgrading from one Windows  operating system to a newer Windows operating system (OS).

And I also have never had an optical drive detected as a virtual drive in any Windows operating system I have used since 1995. A physical device would not be detected by an OS as a virtual device.

Can you use the DVD drive to read and execute data files? Is this problem isolated to running video files?

I don't know what's happening.

You may have to replace the DVD drive if it does not work with W11.

Regards
