OMEN 27i Monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hello,

The other day I dropped something on my monitor screen while rearranging my desk and now there is a stark line of color on my screen. I went to a repair shop and they said it was completely unfixable. Although I have seen other posts on these forums about people that have gotten them fixed. Can anyone tell me where to order a part, a tutorial on how to fix it (Im seeing theyre easy to fix?), or any information really.

The monitor is an Omen 27i and I did check that it was out of warranty as of 2021. Thank you!

Seems like it's not a cheap fix, you might want to contact HP to see what an out-of-warranty repair would cost.
If you're feeling up for it, the fix might be easy (but costly) as you'd need to order the replacement part, pay shipping and experiment yourself.
I highly encourage this, as throwing it away would be more wasteful than repair, but HP would be better served by you replacing it.

Honestly, I'd recommend this only IF you have a spare screen. Then I'd recommend opening up the screen first, seeing how things are attached, at worst you'd break the screen completely (giving you the perfect excuse to replace it). At best you learn something new, get to look at the actual part-number on the back of the panel & get to look at the connectors.
At that point you should order the replacement screen using the found part number, but shipping might take a few days so you'd be out of a screen.
Unless you want to re-assemble/disassemble in a few days.

I did read over that post but the part number that I found was more the entire unit itself, not the screen. So far I have not been able to whatsoever get a part number for a screen or even find one online by searching. Everytime I go to support for my monitor it just tells me to contact  the hp community or buy a new one? If you have any kind of number or email I can contact that'd be awesome. If I can get a screen I would love to fix it myself.

You're likely to find the part number inside the screen itself, on the backside of the panel.
HP documentation is pretty bad, I doubt they tell you which generic panel they use 😉

Do you know of any videos in like removing it or how to go about it? haha
