Hi,
I want to upgrade to a mid tier graphics card and I was wondering if RTX4060TI (8GB or 16GB) would actually work on my OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0000i (236B0AV).
If yes, would I have major cons like bottleneck or anything else that would make me wanna choose the RTX 3000 series?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @macaroanaman

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Nvidia 4000 series cards will work with your system.

236B0AV is a generic product number. There are three possible MBs used in this product:

Dorado

DoradoOC

DoradoOC-AMP

The OC MBs use Intel "K" processors.

What graphics card do you have now? What CPU do you have?

You can compare your current graphics card to a 4060 Ti at this Site.

A 4060 Ti might be a bottleneck when paired with a I9 K CPU.

I don't know about major cons but you might lose a couple of FPS here and there using a 4060 Ti if you have a fast K CPU..

I would look at the 16 GB version of the graphics card for future proofing. But I have seen some benchmarks which don't favor the 16 GB card. I don't know if the 16 GB card is worth the additional cost.

Hi @Bill_To

I have the i710700k processor and the current graphics card that I use is a gtx1070.

So, nonetheless the rtx4060ti will be superior to the 1070, I was very curious if the bottleneck would be an issue.

As for the 16gb version, I also understood thtat it isn't very worth it especially for this 4060ti card due to the other limitation the 4060ti has.
