EliteDisplay E231
Other

Hello,

I got a HP Elite Display E231 and connected it to a ps4 with a VGA cable and a ‘VGA-HDMI converter’. when I started playing a game, the screen started blinking/flickering within 5 minutes of playing. It started going from normal-black-normal-black. I also noticed that it started blinking faster if I kept playing.
when I closed the game, the screen just started to work normal again (when on the main menu of the ps4). No going black or anything. As soon as I (for example) went into the PlayStation store and there were bright colors to be seen, the monitor started blinking again. This also happened when I started up another game.

Does anyone know how to solve this? Or can’t the monitor handle bright flashing colors?

Monitor should have following ports

  • Supports VGA analog (cables are provided with select models).
  • Supports DVI digital (cables are provided with select models).
  • Supports DisplayPort digital (cables are provided with select models).

I believe your PS4 has HDMI port therefore do not use VGA port which is an analog signals port. Only use DVI or DisplayPort because they support digital signals and a cable with HDMI (from PS4) to DVD or DP on monitor will do the trick.

Regards.
