@Niko-y , welcome to the Community.

Here are several possible solutions to your problem:

The “Explorer.exe – System call failed” error in Windows 11 or Windows 10 can occur due to various reasons. Let’s explore some common causes and potential solutions:

  1. Corrupted explorer.exe system file:

    • The error might occur if the explorer.exe system file becomes corrupted.
    • Solution: Restart the explorer.exe process. Right-click on the taskbar, select Task Manager, expand the window to view all active processes, right-click on Windows Explorer, and choose Restart.
  2. Malware or suspicious software:

    • Malicious software or recently installed freeware can interfere with explorer.exe.
    • Solution: Uninstall any recently installed suspicious software. Open the Run prompt (WIN + R), type appwiz.cpl, and hit Enter. Uninstall any recently added freeware, unverified software, or suspicious programs.
  3. Faulty system files:

    • Corrupted or missing system files associated with File Explorer can trigger the error.
    • Solution: Run the System File Checker (SFC) and DISM commands in an elevated Command Prompt:
      • For 32-bit Windows: sfc /SCANFILE=c:\windows\explorer.exe
      • For 64-bit Windows:
            • If needed, run the DISM command as well.
        1. Memory issues:

          • RAM or hard disk problems can lead to the error.
          • Solution: Perform a CHKDSK scan to check for bad sectors and repair them:
            • Run chkdsk c: /f /r in a Command Prompt.
        2. Clean Boot State:

          • Running programs interfering with File Explorer can be isolated.
          • Solution: Restart the system in Clean Boot State to identify the cause.

Remember that these solutions are general guidelines, and the specific cause may vary. If the issue persists, consider seeking professional assistance or providing feedback to Microsoft t...sfc /SCANFILE=C:\Windows\SysWow64\explorer.exe
