I see that there is a new bios update out f30 dated 09/16/2024.

does anyone know what is in it as the fixes section does not say anything.

I have  f25 installed that has the 0x129 microcode fix to address intel 13th 14th gen instability.

Has anyone installed f30 bios and if so can you tell me what microcode for the cpu is included? Intel has recently released a new microcode fix 0x12b at end of last month but not sure if f30 bios update includes that.

If you are referring to the BIOS update for the ROM Family SSID 8A96 (sp155109), I have posted the info link to that update below.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp155001-155500/sp155109.html

It does not address any microcode additions/changes.

ENHANCEMENTS:
-This is the 1st production candidate BIOS F.30 for Windows 11 (24H2) Soft-roll update
- Provides improved security

PREREQUISITES:
You cannot downgrade the BIOS to previous versions once the BIOS is upgraded since there are security updates and important fixes for system functionality.

Thank you for your reply that answers my question.

I may hold off a bit before installing 24h2 windows. When f30 bios update is installed does that need to be done after I have upgraded windows to 24h2 version or can it be done before I upgrade windows to that version?

thank you again

You're very welcome, Doug.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't update to W11 24H2 prior to updating the BIOS.

W11 24H2 was released to the public a couple of days ago, and is available on the Microsoft W11 download site.

Cheers,

Paul
