OMEN 35L Gaming Desktop PC GT16-0000i (9X6A5AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Struggling to control the RGB lighting of your Kingston FURY RAM inside a prebuilt OMEN Gaming PC? I may have a fix for you.

Context: My RAM lighting was unable to be controlled by OMEN Gaming Hub and all other RGB Programs. One of my RAM sticks was also a different color than the other sticks. I tried controlling it with the Gaming Hub and with FURY CTRL and also some other RGB controller programs. I even tried downgrading windows, updating my bios and downloading the latest drivers for everything. I spent hours on the phone with HP support but nothing ever worked.  I noticed my RAM lighting was always working perfect when booting up, until windows fully started up. As soon as the system booted, that previously mentioned single RAM stick changed color. That was an indicator that there was something in my system interfering with my lighting. Eventually I checked my Task manager and found the Problem.

HOW I FIXED IT:

1. Open the windows search bar and type "Services" - open it.

2. Look for the service named "FURYController_Service"

3. Right click FURYController_Service and select "Properties"

4. Under the "General" tab look for an option named "Startup Type"

5. Click on "Startup Type" and select "Disabled"

6. Under the "General" tab look for Service status - click on "Stop"

7. Click on "Apply" at the bottom of the window.

8. Click "OK" at the bottom of the window.

9. Open the windows search bar and type in "Task Manager" - open it.

10. Type "FURY" in the search bar at the top of the Task Manager to check if the program has stopped. If nothing shows up, you have successfully stopped "FURYController_Service"

11. Restart your computer.

12. Open OMEN Gaming HUB, click on "OMEN DESKTOP"

13. Click the "Lighting" tab and look for the "Zones" subcategory  at the top with two logos underneath it.

14. Click the SD-Card logo and try your lighting controls again. (NOTE: sometimes it takes up to 1 minute until the RAM lighting changes. If your RAM doesn't react, try turning it on and off with the "Mode" buttons next to the "Zones" buttons.)

I hope this helps somebody, this was an absolute struggle to figure out. Not even HP themselves were able to help me.

Thank you for this!!!! I recently got an Omen 35L and have been fighting with the lighting a bit. I'd pretty much won against the Keyboard and Mouse, but the Ram was still being a pain. But after following your instructions. everything is great!!!!
