OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop PC GT22-2000i (83N29AV)

Fan lighting is perfectly functional and shows up on boot with the really awful rainbow lighting however when my custom lighting kicks in the fan lights are disabled and I cannot seem to get them on even though they are covered by my lighting settings.

Hi @noahml0,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

It’s disappointing when the RGB setup doesn’t perform as expected, especially on a powerful system like the OMEN 45L—let’s see if we can help you get those fan lights working with your custom settings.

  • Have you made any recent updates to the OMEN Gaming Hub software, Windows, or the OMEN 45L firmware since setting up the custom lighting?
  • Are the RGB lights on other components (such as CPU cooler or RAM) responding to your custom settings, or is it only the fan lights that are having this issue?
  • Are you able to see the fans listed individually under the lighting control settings in OMEN Gaming Hub, or are they grouped with other components?

Let's try these steps.

Check OMEN Gaming Hub Software for Updates

  • Open OMEN Gaming Hub and go to Settings or My Gear.
  • Look for any pending software or firmware updates, as an outdated version may cause issues with RGB synchronization. Install any updates, then try reapplying your custom lighting.

Reapply the Lighting Profile in OMEN Gaming Hub

  • In OMEN Gaming Hub, go to Lighting, select your OMEN 45L, and reset the lighting profile.
  • Recreate your custom lighting scheme, save it, and then apply it to see if the fan lighting responds as expected.

Disable Third-Party RGB Software

  • If you have other RGB control software (such as iCUE, Aura Sync, or Mystic Light), disable or uninstall it temporarily. Conflicting software can sometimes override the OMEN settings and cause the fans not to display custom lighting.

Reboot and Reset RGB Settings in BIOS

  • Restart your OMEN 45L and enter the BIOS (usually by pressing F10 on startup).
  • Check for any RGB settings in the BIOS (if available) and reset them to default. Then, boot into Windows and reapply your custom lighting settings in OMEN Gaming Hub.

Power Cycle and Reset RGB by Disconnecting Power

  • Turn off the computer, disconnect it from the power source, and hold down the power button for about 30 seconds to drain any residual power.
  • Plug the computer back in, turn it on, and see if the fans return to the default RGB and then respond to your custom settings when you apply them again.

If the issue persists, it might be worth reaching out to HP support for deeper hardware settings for the RGB controls on your OMEN 45L.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
