Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

i recently decided to update from a Nvidia geforce rtx 1050 to a geforce rtx 2070, but its not detecting the gpu for some reason and instead operates with the intel(R) UHD graphics 630.

Ive updated to the newest update of windows 10 wondering if that could be an issue, but so far nothing has changed and im not intrested in updating to windows 11 if i can avoid it.

Id be extremely grateful for any assistance!

@Monster_tea , welcome to the Community.

The problem that you are having is because your power supply unit (PSU) is only 310W.  The RTX 2070 requires a PSU with a minimum of 550W w/1x8-pin supplemental power connector.

The motherboard in your computer is HP proprietary. It has a 4-pin power connector instead of a standard 24-pin ATX power connector. You will have to buy any PSU upgrade from HP.  The most powerful PSU that HP sells for your computer is only 500W.  Therefore, you won't be able to upgrade to a RTX 2070.

I wish I had better news for you.

You are very welcome, @Monster_tea!  If you decide to buy a different HP Gaming computer, I will be glad to help you pick one that will do what you need.  I have been gaming for 30+ years.
