@jacobfsu,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

If I had to guess, your HP Pavilion Desktop PC TP01-2000a (2Z6C8AV) is fitted with a 310-watt power supply (p/n: L89232-001) -please verify.

An RX 6600 requires an 8-pin PCIe power cable, and a 500-watt power supply -at least according to various manufacturers, such as Asus.

Fortuitously, there is a compatible 500-watt power supply available for your desktop, with p/n: L81009-800, which can be purchased online, such as via this eBay Seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/196033406584?itmmeta=01HYPSR7G8BBM413CB2XNCW63J&hash=item2da4806678%3Ag%3AC....

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

Thanks but $100 is too much for only a 500w psu

@jacobfsu,

You're welcome -and I do understand: these power supplies are overpriced in my opinion -but I'm afraid that the supply & demand principle is at work...

Hey so I was looking on AMD's website and it says the minimum PSU requirements for the RX 5500 (the gpu I have) is a 550w psu so how come my gpu is compatible with a 310w psu? Are you sure your right about my psu?

@jacobfsu,

Yes, I am right about the 500-watt recommended power supply for an RX 6600 such as suggested by Asus.

Look, an RX 5500 isn't exactly a high-powered graphics card (110-watt TDP), and if you got a 65-watt TDP processor -which you do: an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, and if the rest of your power (wattage) draw is 80-watt or less (which I believe it is), then a quality 310-watt power supply can *just* scrounge by.

Anyway, the reason why I suggested a power supply upgrade is because an RX 6600 has a 132-watt TDP, and at some point in time you may experience power issues, especially if your power supply is constantly running at max capacity.

With a 500-watt power supply you can also power higher performance graphics cards, something you may consider in the future.

I still stand by a power supply upgrade. And if not the 500-watt PSU, at least consider the 400-watt power supply, with p/n: L69242-800, as fitted in various HP Pavilion Desktop PC TP01-2xxx, such as this one.  These power supplies can be purchase online, such as via an eBay Seller.
