I own a omen pc 875-0xxx series and I have a 84fd motherboard and I was looking to upgrade my GPU to a 3060. But not sure what PCIe I have exactly and if that would be a possibility. I have done some research and gotten mixed answers wondering if anyone can help me on this.

Tech Powerup states a 550 watt recommended PSU. You have a 500 watt PSU with the required GPU connectors (6 pin plus 8 pin).

My 6700 XT usually draws about 190 watts when gaming. Your 6700 XT may draw a little more power.

So, try the HP 500 watt PSU.

Upgrade the HP 500 watt PSU if you run into instability problems.

Your PC will use any standard ATX PSU having the same dimensions as the HP 500 watt PSU.

Greetings @Jake74

Welcome back to the Forum.

The 3060 runs on PCIe 4.0 x16.

But this card will run fine on PCIe 3.0 x16 if the card fits in your case and you have, at least, a 450 watt PSU having one 8 pin PCIe PSU connector.

Some 3060s may use the Nvidia 12 pin adapter. You might have a fitment problem with the side panel if you need the 12 pin adapter.

You might be able to find an 8 pin 3060. I just did a 4070 with one eight pin connection to the graphics card.

Thanks bill I looked at what my desktop has it says a

1 PCIe x16; 2 M.2 not sure what these means I can upgrade to but my gpu right now is a NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 Ti Graphics (6 GB GDDR6 dedicated) which says it needs a 3x16 pci so just wanting to make sure that I would be able to get a 3060 also I was wondering if you had any suggestions on one that would be good for my situation thanks!

I also have a 500 W Bronze efficiency power supply and want to know if that would work with and upgraded gpu or if I should get a new one

Greetings @Jake74

My pleasure.

Your MB supports PCIe Gen 3 in the graphics card x16 slot. The 1660 Ti is a Gen 3 card.

But, a Gen 4 graphics card will run just fine in a PCIe Gen 3 x16 slot. You can do a 3060.

I don't generally recommend specific products because product selection is subjective..

Anyway, this Asus dual fan, dual slot 3060, 12 GB card would be one to consider.

Specs for this card are Here. It requires one eight pin PSU connection. It will run on a 450 watt PSU. And it should fit in your PC.

Amazon has this card in stock for $300.00.

Check Amazon and Newegg for other graphics card purchase options. Make sure the perspective card will fit in your PC's case.

I have a 4070 and an AMD 6700 XT purchased earlier this year for $325.00. The 6700 XT beats a 3060. The 6700 XT is out of stock at this time. Check this Site for a comparison (3060 vs 6700 XT).

You can always upgrade the PSU if you want a graphics card which: works with your PC's case, and requires: more power and more PCIe connectors.

Thanks I found this XFX Radeon RX 6700 XT and was wondering if this one would work since the rx 6700 xt has better performance and this one comes in at a good price. So just wondering if it would still be compatible or if theres only a certain 6700 that woul d work?

My pleasure.

That is a good price. It is a refurbished GPU.

Two things are required when doing a graphics card upgrade:

1. Will the card fit in your case? The 6700 XT at your link is 10.5 inches. You will have to measure along the PCIe x16 slot to see if this card fits in your case.

2. Will the existing power supply provide enough power to run the card? And does the existing power supply have the required 6 pin plus 8 pin connectors to the card?

You will have to check items 1 and 2 per above.

Try using the existing 500 watt if it has the required GPU connectors. You will have to upgrade the existing PSU if it does not meet the requirements needed to power the 6700 XT.

I measured my pc and it should be able to fit it and also regarding the 6 and 8 pin it seems that I already have a 8 pin plugged into my gpu and an extra 6 pin laying around so would this be what I need for the new gpu?
