Hello, I recently got a new OMEN 16L gaming laptop for Christmas from my fiancée.  However, when I have tried to play online multiplayer games like League of Legends, and It Takes Two, I keep connecting and disconnecting. It is not my Wi-Fi network, or my drivers, I have tested these already. I have also uninstalled and installed a new Wi-Fi driver, but the issue persists. I have also set priorities on those games, and insured the driver stays on. I am out of all options and lost. Please let me know if more information is needed or advice, thank you!

Greetings @Van_a24

Welcome to the HP Forum.

This is a tough one to troubleshoot because there are too many variables.

Have you tried using an Ethernet connection to see how online gaming goes?

Are you using the latest graphics card drivers?

Check your WIFI connection: latency and throughput at Ookla to verify the PC has a stable WIFI connection.

Have you tried using the Laptop closer to the Router to check WIFI network stability? Maybe the Laptop is currently located in a bad location relative to the Router's WIFI signal.

Do you see good WIFI reception when using a different mobile device at the same location as the new Laptop?

How old is your Router?

Hello! Thank you for your reply!

We went ahead and connected my computer with an ethernet port, and it fixed all my issues. So, I believe my problem is with my Wi-Fi card.  We have tried to contact HP with no luck so far on next options for us, we are unsure if we should continue to try and return it or just replace the card ourselves. What would you say is better?

Thanks again

My pleasure.

It's your call on how to proceed.

I would do the exchange/refund option if you have verified the 16L WIFI adapter is faulty.
