Hi @NadeemA,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your OMEN by HP 875-1000 Obelisk Desktop PC (5VN77AV) reverting to TPM 1.2 after you install TPM 2.0 and restart the system, here are steps to help you resolve this issue:

1. Update BIOS

Ensure that your BIOS is updated to the latest version, as an outdated BIOS can cause issues with TPM compatibility. To update the BIOS:

  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest BIOS update for your system model.
  • Install the update and restart your PC.

2. Manually Upgrade TPM Firmware

To upgrade TPM from 1.2 to 2.0, you may need to manually change the TPM version in the BIOS settings. Follow these steps:

a. Enter BIOS/UEFI Setup:

  • Restart your PC and press Esc or F10 (depending on your system) to enter the BIOS setup.

b. Check TPM Settings:

  • Look for Security or Trusted Computing settings in the BIOS.
  • Verify if there is an option to upgrade TPM from 1.2 to 2.0.

c. Enable TPM 2.0:

  • If TPM 2.0 is not enabled, switch it from 1.2 to 2.0.

d. Save Changes and Exit:

  • Save the settings and exit the BIOS.

3. Update TPM Firmware Using HP Tools

You might need to update the TPM firmware via HP’s TPM firmware update utility:

a. Go to HP’s driver page for your model. b. Download and install the TPM firmware update tool if available. c. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

4. Ensure Secure Boot and UEFI Mode Are Enabled

For Windows 11 and TPM 2.0, Secure Boot and UEFI mode should be enabled:

a. In the BIOS, go to the Boot section. b. Ensure that UEFI Boot is enabled. c. Enable Secure Boot.

5. Clear TPM (Optional)

If you continue to have issues, you may need to clear the TPM:

a. Enter the BIOS. b. Locate the Clear TPM or Reset TPM option. c. Save and exit the BIOS.

Note: This will remove any cryptographic keys, so ensure you have backed up any important data that relies on TPM security.

6. Check Windows Settings

After enabling TPM 2.0 in the BIOS, confirm it is detected in Windows:

a. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security. b. Click on Device Security, then Security Processor Details. c. Ensure it shows TPM 2.0.

7. Windows TPM Management Console

You can also check the TPM version through the TPM Management Console in Windows:

a. Press Win + R, type tpm.msc, and press Enter. b. Under Status, it should indicate that TPM 2.0 is ready for use.

Refer to this document: OMEN by HP 875-1000 Obelisk Desktop PC (5VN77AV) User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
