Microsoft Windows 11

I have a... unique issue, in relation to my RAM slots.

For whatever reason, my HP Omen 25L, with the AMD Hana mobo, refuses to boot up if I have a stick of RAM in my DIMM slots 1 and 3. DIMM slots 2 and 4 work just fine, I'm using my computer like that right now, and I know there's power reaching DIMM slots 1 and 3 because the RGB RAM lights up when the computer powers on. However, it refuses to go past either a blank screen, or it'll lead straight to the Windows 11 troubleshooting page.

I've tried using all DIMM slots with some older DDR4 RAM from my last computer, to no avail. I want to expand my memory without just relying on larger sticks in two out of four slots, and I'm wondering if either my DIMM slots 1 and 3 are bad, or if there's a way I can "turn them on", if that makes sense. Looking forward to any replies, hopefully I can get some much needed help with this issue!

@Stein01,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Maybe this has nothing to do with your problem, but it worked for me once.  Takes just a couple of seconds to check, what do you have to lose?

Type msconfig in your Windows search bar and hit enter.  In the System Configuration window, click the "Boot tab" and then click "Advanced Options".  Make sure there is no tick in the box next to "Maximum Memory", if there is, remove it, click "OK" and then click "Apply" and "OK".  Shut down your PC.  Add your RAM.  Reboot.

Kind Regards,
