I have a new Omen 30L desktop and the sound isn't working. I've reinstalled the audio drivers, and checked all the sound settings. Nothing plays, not even test tones. All suggestions appreciated.

Hi,
Realtek audio drivers can be a pain. Did you update to W11 from W10?
Did you remove the existing audio drivers from the system when uninstalling in Control Panel, Device Manager? I would Try this again. You want to get back to generic Windows audio drivers before updating to Realtek audio drivers.
Restart the PC. See if Windows Update gives you better audio drivers.
HP should have good W11 audio drivers if your PC had W11 installed at the factory. Did you check your PC's Driver and software download site for W11 audio drivers? Find your PC's product number (Link).
A different forum member may have a link to the correct W11 Realtek audio driver.
Regards

Okay. It’s possible I’m an idiot. I tested with a pair of headphones and it works great. So…..it’s just that I haven’t bought a pc in a long time and there’s no speaker. Right? That’s the issue. I’m just used to machines with integrated sound, and this one doesn’t have it.
