Hi, I have a product recently out of warranty afflicted with the Intel 13th/14th Gen CPU issue. Is HP willing to back their consumer in this case and if so, what process would I undergo (links/guide welcome) to get my CPU replaced?

I'm experiencing instability while running workstation loads, kernel level anticheats, and games.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Intel has extended CPU support for affected CPUs purchased at retail.

The Verge is indicating HP should honor Intel's two year warranty extension if your HP CPU is included in the list of affected CPUs.

You would have to contact HP Support for confirmation.

Hello Bill,

Thank you for this information. I have contacted HP's support, and was lead to a dedicated Omen support member. He informed me that HP's current support policy is to issue a BIOS update that HP/Intel claims to "fix the problems".

Now, I'm all for patches to fix affected issues, but this is a hardware issue and I don't buy it one bit. Press coverage has indicated that the damage is permanent. Anyways, my interpretation is that this is Intel trying to weasel their way out of doing the right thing which is fixing their broken products and footing the bill for their mistakes. I am also not impressed by HP, who appears complicit in this whole ordeal.

Perhaps I should have asked for the Verge's contact information to correct that statement that HP is making as it is clearly nonsense. Maybe HP will change their mind and decide to make things right and hold Intel responsible, but I'm starting to lose hope and I'm sorry if any of you reading are in the same position as me.

Greetings @hedgepiggy

My pleasure.

The latest Intel CPU microcode patch is reportedly too late if the processor has already exhibited signs of degradation.

However, it is my understanding Intel is doing retail processor RMA component replacements.

I don't work for HP so I can't provide any additional insight with respect to HP's position.

Regards
