OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop 875-0034

Pushing the power button, and it won’t boot. No response whatsoever. I checked the outlet, power strip, and cable. I followed the directions found on another post here involving holding down various combinations of buttons and holding the power button. Nothing. I attempted to swap out the cell battery on the board as listed in the other post,  but it won’t come out. I’m at a loss.

Welcome to the HP Forum.

You have done some good troubleshooting.

This symptom is usually caused by a hardware problem.

It is impossible to isolate what specific component has failed in a Forum.

I would try to start the PC with only a monitor connection.

You would then have to reduce the PC to a minimum configuration:

- Power supply
- Existing MB and CPU
- one new stick of known good RAM, you can also try each HP factory stick of RAM, one at a time, in each memory slot
- Onboard CPU graphics, if the CPU and MB supports this option, or a different, known good, graphics card

- known good PC monitor if the PC starts but you have no video output

A wild card problem could be a failing chassis power button. This would require jumping the MB power on pins. I don't know where these pins would be since I have never worked with your PC's MB.

You would now have to swap in different components, one at a time, (power supply, CPU and MB) to check for a successful POST if the PC will not start in a minimum configuration.

Swapping in different base components is expensive. I recommend using a local PC Tech if your PC will not POST in a minimum configuration and your PC is not in the warranty period.
