Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Customer brought their HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0024 computer in for repair as it consistently froze on the "Just A Moment" screen during the reinstallation process of Windows 10.  Just saw two other posts from people having this exact same issue.  I've done all of the recommended repair attempts (which all result in Win10 freezing) such as verifying HP's hardware diagnostics tests all pass, HP System Recovery, Win10 media creation, deleting/recreating partioning, AND even replacing the harddrive.  Now if I connect a harddrive with Windows 10 already installed from another computer, Windows 10 boots right up!

Here is my theory...the customer recalls updating the BIOS recently.  The currently installed BIOS is 8433 v.57.  BUT on the HP support page there is NO v.57!  Did HP post a v.57 BIOS update and then later pull it because they realized that it was jacking up these gaming computers?  We are in a pickle because you can't even flash the BIOS back to an older version!  So if my theory is correct, the only solution is going to be for HP to release a BIOS update to fix this issue.

hi

"Customer brought their HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0024 "

so if you are an independent repairer, the best for this user, if you are not able to repair his computer, will be to contact hp directly, or an authorized hp center
bios and security updates will not, in most cases, be included in the product pages, already answered several topics here about this!
