I am trying to get support for a new Omen desktop that will not boot, but when I try to add the product to my account via serial number (my only option) it simply states "Please enter a valid serial number".

 

It seems I can get nowhere with HP support without a serial number; and I have one, yet they don't recognize it. This seems to be a common problem. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Check for Typos: Make sure there are no typos or extra spaces in the serial number that you are entering.

 

Find Serial Number Locations:

  • On a desktop, the serial number is usually printed on a label on the bottom or back of the computer.
  • You can also find the serial number in the BIOS settings of your computer.

Use HP Support Assistant:

  • If you have access to another working HP device, you can install HP Support Assistant.
  • This tool can automatically detect and register all HP devices connected to your network.
