I was using my pc last night. Selected update and shut down when I was finished using it. Today I boot it up, but the omen logo will show and then the screen goes black. I restarted it, I changed hdmi cables, I started in bios. PC is like a year old.

Greetings @Walk215
Welcome to the HP Forum.
You did an update and continued to use the PC until you shut down the PC.
Was the update a BIOS update? A bad BIOS update can cause weird stuff at startup.
Do you recall what updates were installed?
Were the updates from Windows or HP?
You have stated "I started in BIOS".
Did you have video while you were in the BIOS?
I am a little fuzzy on what's happening?? I can't decide if you have: a monitor problem, or a PC component problem, or a bad update problem.
Video either works or it doesn't.
You tried a different HDMI cable. Can you try a different monitor? Or try this monitor on a different PC.
Or try different video ports, including DisplayPort (if available) on this PC and this monitor.
Regards
