Hi @Unkn0wnGuard1an,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be several issues with your HP Omen 870-224 desktop. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Check Connections

  • Power Supply: Ensure that all power supply connections to the motherboard, CPU, GPU, and other components are securely connected.
  • Fans: Verify that all fan connectors are properly attached to the motherboard or fan controller.

Inspect for Loose Components

  • CPU Cooler: Make sure the CPU cooler is properly mounted and its fan is connected to the correct header on the motherboard.
  • RAM and GPU: Ensure the RAM and GPU are properly seated in their respective slots.

Check for LED Connections

  • Power Button LED: Verify that the power button LED connector is properly connected to the motherboard. It’s usually a small connector that attaches to the front panel header.
  • RGB Lighting: Ensure that the RGB lighting cables are securely connected to the appropriate header on the motherboard or an RGB controller.

Reset CMOS

  • Clear CMOS: Try resetting the BIOS by clearing the CMOS. You can do this by locating the CMOS battery on the motherboard, removing it for about 5-10 minutes, then reinserting it.

Inspect Fan Functionality

  • Non-Working Fan: Check if the non-working fan is properly connected to the power supply or motherboard. You can also try connecting it to a different fan header to see if it starts working.

Reinstall Processor and Cooler

If you have already attempted to uninstall the processor, you might need to reinstall it properly. Here’s how:

  1. Remove the CPU Cooler: Carefully unscrew and remove the CPU cooler.
  2. Remove the Processor: Gently release the CPU latch and remove the processor.
  3. Reinstall the Processor: Place the processor back into the socket, ensuring it aligns correctly with the socket notches.
  4. Apply Thermal Paste: Apply a small amount of thermal paste on the CPU surface.
  5. Reattach the CPU Cooler: Securely attach the CPU cooler and reconnect its fan cable.

Update BIOS/UEFI

Sometimes, updating the BIOS/UEFI to the latest version can resolve hardware compatibility issues. Check the HP support website for any BIOS updates for your specific model.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and potentially resolve the issues with your HP Omen desktop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
