Omen
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I cannot seem to get the right RAM that physically fits in the upgrade slots for my OMEN PC 870-XXX Desktop PC.

I bought this from Best Buy with initial factory load of 8 GB.

I then ordered an 8 GB expansion of RAM matching the following specs:

DDR4 2133MHz PC4-17000 1.2V Non-ECC DIMM

from A-Tech on Amazon.

This is listed as the official RAM type for upgrade for Omen, but when I try to physically insert it, little notches at the edges do not align nor permit me to push it in and snap into place.

Is there some special proprietary RAM I have to buy for Omen upgrades -- or is there some trick of installation I am missing?

@JohnVLinton

What is your HP-OMEN 870-2XX ? For example

                     OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 870-224

It uses standard uATX: 24x24 cm (9.4x9.4 in) motherboard and standard DDR4 RAM. You can use a tool called CPU-Z to see what it is.

HP uses standard RAM sticks from other vendors therefore RAM should physically fit.

Regards.

I do have a HP-OMEN 870-224.

It says on lookup with your tool DDR4 8GB, which is what I got.  Maybe I overlooked how it fits.

Will have to try again.  Attached image is the RAM I bought.

Thanks
